Description
Can you use the same masters for both digital use and vinyl pressing? Sometimes, yes. But it is a risk, and a false economy. Vinyl pressing is an expensive process already, so it’s a no-brainer to spend a fraction more to get the best possible sound.
Using your “normal” masters optimised for digital use means you will always have a nagging feeling that “perhaps it could have sounded better” – A real shame when you spend so much on a vinyl release that will last for generations. Or worse, they will be rejected by the pressing plant, or possibly even cause the needle to skip on playback. This is why cutting from a dedicated pre-vinyl optimised master is an important step.
Our special pre-vinyl optimised versions of your masters prevent all this pain. At just £20 per track when bought alongside your mastering, you can be confident your vinyl will sound absolutely amazing, leaving a legacy you can be proud of. Plus you know it will slap in the club!
We do all the usual things like ensure there’s no phase issues and perform specific EQ optimisation, but we have a couple of extra tricks up our sleeves which are exclusive to Fat As Funk and developed in-house over nearly 20 years. This is the reason we have been the “Go-to” person for Key Production, Cram Duplication and Breed Media for well over ten years, having made many thousands of tracks sound amazing for their clients.
We can do the same for your vinyl release too. Don’t leave the sound of your cut to chance and skimp on one of the most important parts of the vinyl release. Get our pre-vinyl optimised masters and be proud of your vinyl.
NOTES:
If you ONLY want pre-vinyl optimised masters, without “regular” masters that are optimised for digital use, order our Stereo Mastering service (& just tell us you only want vinyl when you upload, or send us an email). This “Add a vinyl Optimised Version” service to your “main” masters is cheaper as we will have already done half the work for your regular masters!
If you have existing masters you love the sound of and want to use for vinyl but which are already “slammed” (for a vinyl re-release of a CD for example) – don’t worry, we can perform a unique service of optimising existing masters for a vinyl cut using our proprietary techniques, honed over nearly 20 years. We keep the sound as close to the originals as possible, but the end result is a much punchier and dynamic cut. Check out: Converting Existing Masters for Vinyl for this unique service
